Past Events: Holiday Boutique (download flyer) November 9-11, 2012 | St. Paul’s Episcopal Church The fourth annual Holiday Boutique was held November 9 – 11, 2012 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, opening with the Patron’s Party on Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Halloween Party October 27, 2012 | Craine House The families and staff of Craine House celebrated Halloween with a party. The children had temporary Halloween tattoos, snacks and a weenie roast. A wonderful time was had by all. Make a Difference Day October 27, 2012 | Craine House (3535 N. Pennsylvania Street, Indianapolis)Craine House participated in “Make a Difference Day” held throughout the nation on Saturday, October 27. The theme was “Craine House On The Move” as we remodel a new facility to grow and increase the number of families we serve. Our staff and board members prepared and gave away nearly 100 healthy lunches to our surrounding community. We also demonstrated easy exercise techniques including yoga and jump roping (it was good to keep moving, it was very cold that day!). Craine House has been blessed to belong to the Mapleton-Fall Creek neighborhood for over 30 years and decided to give back to our friends and neighbors while emphasizing the need for healthy eating and regular exercise. Craine House functions as a work release facility serving non-violent mothers and their pre-school age children. Our new facility (6130 N. Michigan Road, Indianapolis) will allow us to serve over 20 families at a time with programs to prepare our mothers and children for living in their communities better able to take care of themselves and their families. Marilyn Day with two Mapleton-Fall Creek residents Board members Marilyn Day and Bruce Edelen Whole Foods Community Support Day On April 4, 2012, Craine House was the beneficiary of Whole Foods Market Community Support Day. Five percent of of that day’s sales were donated to Craine House, amounting in $4,683.39 from this one-day event. Episcopal Church Women 5K Walk/Run July 8, 2012 | Indianapolis White River Canal Walk The Episcopal Church Women (EWM) and Episcopal Women’s Ministries from Indiana hosted women from all over the world in July for their Triennial Conference. Every three years this event selects two charities to support – usually one from the home diocese (this year it was Craine House) and one national or international charity (“Nets for Life” in Africa). ECW organized a 5K walk/run and other events to collect funds for their selected charities.
